I don't think my standards are too high, but when you pay someone else to prepare a meal for you there are certain expectations. This is a very small quaint place but my husband and I were both very unhappy with service and food. The waitress seemed more interested in talking to people she knew who had come in. The food was not great. It was cooked fine but not hot and not much to it. We had fried haddock, the filets looked good but once we cut into them they were nearly all breading. There were 2 forkfuls of fish and the rest was breading. Between that and the service we were done, will not be returning

We had a very good lunch at Shark's recently. My husband and I started out with a cup of New England clam chowder. It was not the thick, rich and creamy chowder we New Englanders are used to, but it was ok. We both had the blackened haddock dinner. I asked for light seasoning, my hubby normal seasoning. The fish was grilled perfectly and the seasoning was just right for both our tastes. We opted for the mixed vegetables instead of fries and they were surprisingly good. Didn't taste like over cooked canned vegetables. The cole slaw was also very good. The restaurant is very cute and very clean and we were also impressed with the service. We thought the prices were very reasonable.

I can't believe there aren't hundreds of rave reviews for this place. I live in Raleigh, NC, but visit North Port often. Sharks is always one of the first places we visit. Definitely nothing fancy, but if you're looking for great seafood, reasonably priced, always served with a smile, give it a try. I get the fried Basa fingers and shrimp; and love the coleslaw. (Just please don't go on a Friday night during lent. I don't want to wait even longer for a table. ;-))

Not bad. I ordered the Basa Sandwich to go and was pleasantly greeted in a clean, bright atmosphere. The sandwich was 9.95 and easily worth the price. The portion was twice the size of some other fish sandwiches. I had it blackened. The seasoning was flavorful and the accompanying fries and coleslaw were delicious. I only subtract one star because the fish tasted slightly aquarium like, but that could just be me not being used to Basa.

Food was excellent & good service to. Very few places I have eaten at know how to make a good crab cake. It was great. Doesn't look like much inside or out but it's worth checking it out. My daughter had the coconut shrimp & Basa fish. She said it was great also.

Place isn't high maintenance. They serve you in cups and paper plates so don't expect something big, but the food was ok I thought it was a small proportion but then again I eat a lot. The service was good, the lady was very nice. The prices we're good and I recommend the clam chowder and fried shrimp, that was pretty good. First review by the way.

Great service and food.. Thought this was a high end place but it was a great little place. Service treated us like family and the food was better than bubba gumps in my opinion. And they're really cheap also for there fish!

I had the cheeseburger here and I thought it was very good! I don't eat seafood, but my boyfriend got the clam strips and I actually ate them, they were delicious! He got the fish and shrimp combo and was shocked at how big the fish was! He liked his meal and was happy with the amount of food he got for the price. Service was good as well.

We went to Sharks about 2 years ago and we didn't like it. But we were in the mood for fish a couple of days ago and decided to give Sharks another try. I am glad that we did. I got the haddock. It was the best ! 2 big pieces with a tasty batter. The fish was firm, thick, not watery and not fishy tasting. The pieces had just enough and not too much batter for me. My husband, who is picky about cole slaw, said it was good. I agree. We shared a bowl of clam chowder. It had lots of clams and the soup was thick. The fries were just standard fries, not out of the ordinary. (My favorite fries are 5 guys, Mc d and steak fries). The service was fast and friendly. The waitress was always there when our drinks got low or if we needed anything. The only disappointment was the dessert. If they would improve on that, I would have given 5 stars.
